During the visit to the beach, my trusty Tropic Marin Compact Lab was brought along and given the harsh treatment of a field test.
The kit is great and contains a lot of good test, including Alkalinity and pH. Especially those were interesting, since they are very crucial in reef aquaria. In such a brackish environment, how did the KH and pH score?
Unsurprisingly they tested well within normal ranges. The oysters would need a buffer for calcification and the oxygen were high as should be. Note how easy the color is to read on the pH test kit. It's the reason I don't use pH probes. -Samuel Christensen
