A Tropic Marin Tank (35): New scape, new algae

With the new rockwork added to the tank, the corals are much happier. Especially the acropora, which can be lifted much higher and closer to the light. Unfortunately, that extra energy coupled with the new rocks, a sea lettuce algae has taken hold. Something like this was to be expected. But, this is no reason to panic. Manual removal to keep the algae trimmed is the first line of defense. Once a week or so, and this coupled with extra keen maintenance on the skimmer, the problem algae should subside. If it doesn't work, we will try something else. - Samuel Christensen
